About Kids Club

Kids Club provides free on-site afterschool and summer care for nearly 1,100 at-risk children, ages 5-12, in a safe, nuturing environment and helps parents to balance work and family life.

Children receive daily homework assistance and engage in games and outdoor play supervised by caring adults. Kids Club activities include fun and educational field trips to the Dallas Arboretum, Museum of American Railroad, the U.S. Treasury Bureau, swimming parties, movies, ice skating, and Going Bonkers.  Other activities include service projects, that they choose,  to help improve their neighborhoods and giving back to the community in many ways.  Through these programs our Kids Club kids develop friendships, self-respect, personal resilience and healthy eating habits. They also learn the self-reliance skills needed to remain drug-free, gang-free and in school. Academic Enrichment offers Kids Club youth a high-energy program designed to extend learning.  They enhance their math and reading skills through non-traditional, age-appropriate activities that cultivate a life-long love of learning. They also develop a healthy attitude about learning, and increase their self-confidence, ability to cooperate with others and solve problems. The program strives to reduce the academic achievement gap for minority and low-income children and has demonstrated positive outcomes as reported to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and Camp Fire USA.
